Jacqueline López is a multidisciplinary artist whose intuitive practice coexists in a delicate balance between beauty and darkness, reality and dream. Born on the border of Paraguay and Brazil. A former CPA turned artist and activist, she focused on supporting healing through all creative forms. She uses the person’s birth charts to determine what goes into each art piece.
Using different mediums, Jacqueline unpacks her spiritual lineage through works that reclaim ancestral memory, hold space for reverence, and create uniquely Hispanic-Portuguese and Guarani indigenous iconography.
Each artwork and installation honors those who walked before her, who carried and sustained rituals from her ancestors, including her grandfather, who practiced folk medicine. It also borrows from various alchemical traditions to create her own sense of the sacred.
Her roots are embedded in the study of the natural world and deepen her mother’s tradition of using dreams and visions to inspire her alchemical work. She sees the energy emanating from her altar as kin, friends, the ones that are rooting for her artistic journey and that she goes to when she is either having a hard day or celebrating a win.
